Avikash Ram was appointed as the Principal Officer of SUN Insurance on 16th July 2025, following over a decade of dedicated service and leadership within the organization.

As the Principal Officer, Avikash is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of SUN Insurance, including strategic planning, underwriting, claims, finance, customer relations, reinsurance, distribution, HR, and IT.

Thomas Naua was promoted to Deputy Principal Officer in July 2025, while continuing to serve as Chief Product Development Officer—a dual leadership role that underscores SUN’s confidence in his ability to steer both strategic plans and product innovation for SUN.

His appointment reflects SUN’s forward-looking vision of strengthening its executive leadership while maintaining a sharp focus on innovation and market-leading solutions.

Rohit Ram was appointed as Manager Sales in July 2025, Rohit Ram brings over two decades of experience and dedication to Sun Insurance. Prior to this role, he served as Sales Manager Central from 2021, where he played a pivotal role in driving growth and fostering strong client relationships.

Rohit began his journey with Sun Insurance in 2014 as a Direct Services Executive, where he quickly distinguished himself through his leadership, customer focus, and in-depth industry knowledge. Before joining Sun,

Eleni Finau Adiyawa was appointed as the Manager Underwriting in September 2022.
 
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Finau was Manager Underwriting Non-Broker since April 2018.

Harshana Aponsu was appointed as the Finance Manager of Sun Insurance in May 2025, bringing with him over 12 years of dedicated experience in the insurance industry with a strong focus on financial management, reporting, and regulatory compliance. With a strong background in finance, Harshana is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) Special Degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Ronald Kumar was appointed as the Manager Information Technology in April 2022. 

Ronald is a Certified Information Technology Professional with over 15 years of local and international industry experience specializing in IT Infrastructure, Telephony, Security, Cloud Computing, Project and Quality Management, Business Analysis and Business Management.

Akanshni Lata was appointed as Manager – Risk & Compliance at SUN in March 2024, recognizing her proven expertise and dedication to upholding robust governance and compliance frameworks. She initially joined the Risk & Compliance team as an Officer in September 2022, where she played a key role in supporting risk management strategies, policy development, and regulatory compliance.

Mitleshni Devi currently serves as the Assistant Manager – Human Resources at SUN, bringing a strong background in HR management, payroll administration, and finance. Since joining SUN in October 2022 as a Finance Officer, she has demonstrated adaptability, growth, and a strong commitment to employee wellbeing and organizational development.

Barry Christopher Jione was appointed as the Manager Claims, effective 28th July 2025. Barry brings with him a wealth of experience spanning over 30 years in the financial and insurance industry. Prior to this appointment, Barry served as Assistant Manager Claims from 12th June 2024, demonstrating strong leadership and expertise in claims management.

Nukul Deo is an experienced insurance professional with over 20 years in the Fijian insurance industry. Since joining Sun Insurance Company Limited in 2004 as a Claims Officer, he has built a distinguished career rooted in operational excellence, customer service, and strong leadership.

Ronald Ravikash Mani currently serves as the Branch Manager of Sun Insurance’s Nadi Branch, a role he has held since May 2018. He commenced his journey with Sun Insurance on 1st July 2016, initially appointed as a Direct Sales Officer based at the Head Office, following his tenure at Dominion/Capital Insurance.

Monica Trufil Aguilar is the Manager Legal & Company Secretary at Sun Insurance, where she leads the development of in-house legal frameworks and provides strategic advice on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management. As the company’s first in-house counsel, Monica plays a pivotal role in shaping policies, reviewing contracts, and guiding regulatory matters to strengthen Sun Insurance’s operations and protect its stakeholders.
