Harshana Aponsu was appointed as the Finance Manager of Sun Insurance in May 2025, bringing with him over 12 years of dedicated experience in the insurance industry with a strong focus on financial management, reporting, and regulatory compliance. With a strong background in finance, Harshana is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) Special Degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Prior to joining Sun Insurance in Fiji, Harshana built a robust career within Sri Lanka’s insurance sector, where he played a key role in shaping financial strategies, enhancing corporate reporting structures, and navigating complex regulatory environments. His exposure to international financial standards and cross-border operational practices allows him to contribute a global perspective to Sun Insurance’s finance function.

Harshana is widely regarded for his strong analytical acumen, disciplined approach to financial governance, and the ability to deliver strategic financial insights that align with long-term business objectives. His leadership supports the company’s commitment to transparency, compliance, and sustainable financial performance, positioning Sun Insurance for continued growth and operational excellence within the Fijian insurance market.
