Akanshni Lata was appointed as Manager – Risk & Compliance at SUN in March 2024, recognizing her proven expertise and dedication to upholding robust governance and compliance frameworks. She initially joined the Risk & Compliance team as an Officer in September 2022, where she played a key role in supporting risk management strategies, policy development, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to this, Akanshni spent five years within SUN’s Finance Department, beginning her journey as a Finance Officer before being promoted to Senior Finance Officer.

Akanshni first joined SUN as a Customer Service Officer in the Underwriting Team, where she spent six months gaining valuable insights into customer engagement and core insurance operations.

In November 2022, alongside her Risk & Compliance duties, she was appointed as SUN’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer, further demonstrating the company’s trust in her leadership and attention to regulatory obligations.

Academically, Akanshni holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Economics from the University of the South Pacific.

Before joining SUN, she gained hands-on experience in administrative and financial tasks as an Invoicing Clerk at Narhari Electrical Pte Ltd, where she developed essential skills in billing and customer coordination.

Akanshni’s well-rounded experience across finance, risk, compliance, and customer service positions her as a key contributor to SUN’s continued focus on integrity, accountability, and risk-aware decision-making.
