Thomas Naua was promoted to Deputy Principal Officer in July 2025, while continuing to serve as Chief Product Development Officer—a dual leadership role that underscores SUN’s confidence in his ability to steer both strategic plans and product innovation for SUN.

His appointment reflects SUN’s forward-looking vision of strengthening its executive leadership while maintaining a sharp focus on innovation and market-leading solutions.

With a distinguished career in the insurance industry dating back to 1994, Thomas brings a wealth of experience that places him in an ideal position to drive SUN’s competitive edge, particularly in delivering innovative insurance solutions tailored to the Fiji market and strategically taking the company forward.

Before assuming his current roles, Thomas served as General Manager – Operations from September 2022, where he successfully oversaw the company’s operational functions. Prior to that, he was General Manager – Customer Service from July 2017, where he reinforced SUN’s reputation as the leading provider of customer service in Fiji’s insurance sector.

Thomas began his leadership journey at SUN as Claims Manager in 2011, where he was instrumental in elevating the company’s claims service to industry-leading standards—setting a benchmark that became the envy of competitors. His in-depth knowledge of Insurance Law has also earned him the respect of the legal fraternity.

As the longest-serving member of the SUN team, Thomas has progressed through various senior roles, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations and strategy. This depth of experience makes him exceptionally well-placed to lead SUN’s product innovation and governance responsibilities and the Deputyt Principal Officer Roles to new heights.

Thomas holds an Associateship with the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF Assoc CIP).
